SPACIOUS CABIN – LOTS OF ROOM

We booked this cabin for the New Years Weekend. Ended up to be the coldest time of the winter so far. The 2nd floor bedroom area was warm for sleeping and showering, that was in the low 70’s. The main level area was in the mid 60’s for the temp during the day and would get to about 61 for the morning temp when we would come down to start the day. The kitchen area was cold all the time. I did not see a heat source in that area at all. We ended up with a group of only 15 that wanted to venture out during this cold snap, so we had tons of room. Would come back to enjoy this cabin at any time of the year but would like to have some more heat options during the winter months for the main level entertaining and kitchen areas.

Owner’s Response:Old man Winter was cruel during your stay, the heating system in Lodge was trying to make up a 100 degree difference between the 35 below outside and the 65 degrees inside! All areas of the Lodge are heated, but we did encounter some spots that were a little harder to keep warm – we have added portable heaters in those areas which are set to match the rest of the Lodge. Thanks for your feedback!

My large family absolutely LOVES Fun at the Lakes. We were there in August of 2016 and will be back in 2017. The beach is fabulous with lots of sand for the “kids” to build castles, rivers and animals. The water is perfect for swimming, fishing,and cruising at sunset. Plenty of space inside and out for group play, or some private time. The kitchen with 3 refrigerators and 2 stoves is a good fit for a large family. It is clean and well cared for. No problems at all. Only sleeping comfortable, laughter, easy cooking, sun tans, fish, doing nothing or lots to do. Mostly sharing the family love. This year we are bringing in a country line dance instructor for a few hours. Can’t wait!! We have found our, ” One week summer vacation home”. For 10 years we have looked for the perfect place and this is it. Thank you, Mielke family.

Our extended family booked this resort for 2016 after having a great experience in 2015; it has a sandy beach that is perfect for spending hours in and close to the water with small children. We were very unhappy with the state of the resort in 2016, however we are happy to report that the owners were responsive to the issues and we are considering renting again this year. The resort offers a lot of amenities for the price when it is well maintained. Very relaxing setting with room for a lot of people.

After spending some time at the Fun At the Lakes Resort I understand how great it is to stay at a place I feel comfortable in. The 12 bedroom lodge was spacious, kitchen and dining areas adequate for my large family and a great sandy beach to boot! A firepit at lakes edge, beach chairs, horseshoe pits and large grassy areas for games made our time pass by too quickly. They also have a 4 bedroom house and 2 bedroom lakeside cabin available on the same property. Try it you’ll like it!
